Abstract

The article presents the experience of an educational psychologist in solving current problems of educational motivation of modern schoolchildren. Based on our own practice and analysis of current research on this issue, the main reasons for the decline in schoolchildren’s motivation to study have been identified, directions in the work of a teacher-psychologist have been revealed: with the teaching staff, directly with the students themselves, with the pupils’ families. For each of the areas, the tasks and forms of work of an educational psychologist are described. Psychological and pedagogical recommendations for teachers and parents are presented, aimed at developing learning motivation in pupils. The material in this article will be interesting and useful for the work of school educational psychologists, as well as for those teachers and parents who are faced with the problem of reducing educational motivation in children.
